The previous time O2 customers had to pay extra was due to the increased VAT price which went up to 20%. Most if them are yet to settle with the old hike in the price and O2 has already announced a new price hike for its customers.

But O2 has given complete explanation on why they wish to increase the prices. In their explanation, O2 says that they need the extra money for their investments in their mobile and broadband network. They continuously expand their network for better customer service and reliability on their network. And this year for 2011 O2 plans to increase investment by 25% and so the extra hike.

They also said that they have been constant with their pricing on all their Home broadband and Home phone packages right from the time they have introduced the plans. But now with increasing needs of the customers they will have to hike the price for better service.

They also added that there are some plans like the Access plan in which they started the plan with the lowest competitive cost and since then bearing the loss for the benefit of the customers. So there will be a high price hike in the Access plan and all the customers will have to bear the hike of an extra £5 each month. The other packages where there will be a high price hike seen is in the unlimited broadband plan. The unlimited plans will see a hike of almost £3 a month.

The other packages will hardly see a difference in price. There will be very nominal changes in other price plans. Like, the Basic package which gives the user a download limit of 20 GB each month with a speed of 20Mbps will now cost £8.50 ore month. Previously the same plan would cost £8.17 per month. All other plans will observe a low price hike like the Basic package

High Speed Business Broadband packages and deals for all small, medium and big UK businesses and companies. The new promise will mean that the customers plan will automatically shift to the lower cost when Orange decides to revise its plan price.

This is because Orange understands its consumers and their difficult financial times at this crucial moment when almost the entire country is struggling due to the difficult economy. And at this difficult time Orange want to restore confidence in customer’s mind that they will always be at a lower price at least in terms of their broadband and calling if they tie up with Orange’s price plan.

And this is not any promotional offer to increase customer base. Orange with the right work ethics is offering this to all old and the new subscribers which plan to shift to Orange. The new price promise applies to all "Broadband and Anytime Calls" and "Broadband & Off Peak Calls" packages.

But there is a small catch in the scheme. Orange does promise for the Price reductions as and when the price reduce but only to the broadband monthly rental and or to the broadband subscription charges. So if in future the call prices or other such fees increase Orange will not bear the costs and the price will automatically increase. This is mentioned though in all their offering in small texts at the bottom.

Also the price plan only applies to price reductions which means that if in future the price plan reduces you will benefit from the price reductions. But in future if the prices increase there is no promise to keep the price constant. The prices will increase even if the monthly rental or subscription increases. But it is still a good deal as broadband prices are reducing each day and it will only be beneficial to opt for the price promise from Orange.

BT Broadband for fast broadband internet connection with up to 20Mb download speeds. Virgin Media which is a cable network and uses fibre optic technology to supply broadband has upgraded to 30Mb from its old 20Mb due to increasing needs of the customers.

Virgin media does not make use of the VDSL technology. VDSL is a technology which basically distributes the net based on its distance from the exchange. So if the distance is more from the exchange the customer is likely to face more trouble with the Internet be it in terms of speed drops or congestion.

But Virgin has an advantage as it uses the cable network and thus customers will face no network congestions or network drops. And the new service will not cost a bomb as it is just £18.50 per month what the customers will have to shell out for unlimited Internet at 30Mbps download speeds.

The customers who are already using the XL package will be able to upgrade to the 50 percent increase in speed at a one off cost of £25. This will also give them Virgin's latest SuperHub DOCSUS 3.0 modem and router to support the high speed Internet and also to boost wireless connections.

According to the Executive Director of Broadband at Virgin Media, Mr. Jon James says that the needs of customers have tremendously increased and Virgin Media wishes to meet all the consumer needs by launching their new XL plan. He also believes that the high speed Internet is very much required at homes which have more than one device which uses Internet in their house. This will allow them to smoothly use all their device without any speed loss.

With this new upgrade Virgin Media customers will now have an option of 4 broadband speed which include 10Mbps, 30Mbps, 50Mbps and 100Mbps.

Compare Broadband Packages and Deals for prices, download allowance, speed and contract length with major broadband packages available in UK.

Previous Post: Smart phones drive Vodafone Ireland’s Q4 growth

Smart phones drive Vodafone Ireland’s Q4 growth

2010 has been a remarkable year of success for Vodafone Ireland, especially the Q4. The sales were at their premium in last quarter. The driving factor for the massive sales remained the smart phones and mobile broadband packages.

The company had a phenomenal growth, thanks to the 34,000 net additions in Q4. This has lead to 2.217 registered mobile users in 2010 as compared to 2.124 million last year. Vodafone Ireland in December reached a total subscriber figure of 2.4 million counting the operator’s fixed line and DSL businesses.

Every second device sold by the company was a smart phone. And this was mainly dominated by the popular Apple iPhone or the latest smart phone Google Nexus one and similar Google based Android handsets. The company quoted that the mobile quarterly minutes of use (MOU) per customer grew 5% year-on-year.

It reached to 273 minutes in 4Q 10’. Cellco, announced that data traffic increased nearly by 5% in the fourth quarter, thanks to the unfortunate weather conditions experienced in the country forcing a large part of the population to work from home during December. Overall, average income per user (ARPU) fell by 6.9% to EUR 34.90 (USD41.8) a month.

Cellco also declared the launch of their new device ‘Sure Signal’, in another two weeks. This femto cell will boost 3G signal coverage within, using a fixed line broadband connection to create required network in case of fragile or no signal. This will solve the problems of many of the Vodafone customers which are facing trouble with signal in the indoors and this will surely increase their customer base as well.

Since many consumers want to shift to a mobile network for their Broadband purpose but cannot due to the network. But this new device which costs less than EUR100 will make many of the consumers shift to Vodafone from their regular Home Broadband.

BT broadband Packages on offers. It was after this that the minister refused to comply with the orders of the Senate in an open act of defiance. No reason or grounds of justification have been cited for the same and everyone is taken aback the Conroy’s act.

But it’s the government who will stand to lose the most as its failure to present all the important documents will jeopardize the smooth processing of the NBN project and may be the hot shots of the country may after all withdraw their support from the consensus to break up of Telstra.
According to the Senator, the document or the study on NBN is has very optimistic implications for the overall project and says that some of its recommendations are very surprising. Apparently, the NBN project and the deal with Telstra is overdue since long now as no consensus is being reached with Telstra officials over the cost aspect.

Know the Best Offers in Broadband at Broadband-bundles.co.uk

Related Post:

Fibre broadband subscribers to reach 106mn by 2014

Use promotional codes to shop for expensive gifts and items and be sure to take advantage of latest bargains and rock bottom prices.
